Here in NY we have a long standing tradition going 15 years strong to kick off spring for us ATV and UTV riders, the SNIRT Run! This event is located in Barnes Corners, in our home state of NY, and held the 3rd Saturday in April every year.

For the event ATVs and UTVs are allowed to rule the roads for a day. People from all over NY and the neighboring states make the haul for this fun filled day, with a slew of cool places to stop, a poker run, and 50/50 drawing all part of the event as well.

The Sno-Pals Snowmobile Club puts the event together with Polaris and Eagle Beverage Incorporated being this year’s sponsors.  This year’s grand prize was a 2018 Sportsman 450, and the 50/50 winner walked away with over $3000!

Why call it SNIRT run? Well, unfortunately for us during the 3rd week of April we still have snow on the ground most years, and sometimes it’s a lot. Mix that melting snow with dirt roads, and you've got yourself SNIRT. Most of these seasonal roads are groomed snowmobile trails for the winter up to this point, which gave the run a nice 12-18” of packed snow to start the day.

As the sun came out and warmed things up the snow got wet, heavy, and soupy... the SNIRT was now in full effect. The trails became heavily rutted with machines of lower ground clearance getting hung up on the deeper than frame snow, but our 2016 Polaris RZR XP 4 EPS build had no problem marching through it all.  The mud pits were open this year and we have some footage to share from our fun time there.

This year’s stops on the run were located at Barrows Performance, Colleen's Creekside, Flat Rock Inn, Groomer Barn, G.S.E. Performance, Highmarket Inn, Highmarket Sports, Hook & Ladder, Montague Inn, Ridgeview Inn, Timberview Inn, Keitha's Kafe, Towpath Restaurant, Tuggers, Valley Snow Travelers, and Whiskey Jacks.  Check out some of the pics and video we captured below, come get SNIRTY with us next year!
