Introducing the BKT AT 171

For years people have wondered how a BKT TR 171 tractor tire is so popular in the ATV/UTV industry. BKT has heard these questions and has answered them with a redesign of the popular TR 171 tire in an AT (All-Terrain) version.

In the AT, there are a few tread design differences.  Most notably, the sidewall of the lug is not hollowed out like the TR 171.  Other than that there is a small insignia in between the lugs that was done to differentiate the AT and TR lines from each other.  The entire lineup of BKT's AT 171 is 6 Ply-Rated.

Even though most people run the TR 171 without tubes, the new AT 171 is a tubeless tire so it is specifically designed to be ran on ATVs and UTVs without a tube.

BKT also changed the sizing of the tire to suit more of the standard ATV/UTV riders.  Now available in 28", 30", 31" and 33" these tires can fit on most machines with little-to-no modifications.

BKT also went ahead and eliminated the debate between 8.3" wide and 9.5" wide and made most of the AT's 9" wide.

A lot of people felt the 8.3" was on the narrow end of the spectrum, offering no rim protection, whereas others felt the 9.5" wide was on the wide end of the spectrum and heavier than what people wanted to run on their machines.

For those that love the OG TR 171 and want to go larger than 33", don't fret as KJ Motorsports will continue to carry the TR 171 in addition to the AT 171.  For those that want the AT 171 in larger sizes, stay tuned as we get the feeling BKT will continue to expand the AT lineup.
